Moments of Doubt

Moments of Doubt

Written in 2013

Just like anything else in life, I started having doubts about getting an online degree.

And on top of that I did have some people tell me I shouldn’t do it.

I prayed about it. And even after I made the decision, I began to wonder if I made the right decision.

God, is this right decision? Should I even go back to school? Should I wait to go back to school? What if I enroll in this program and it doesn’t work out?

At one point, I even told my recruiter that I changed my mind and that I was going to wait to enroll for the spring semester instead of the fall semester.

I also did some research and started asking around. I found out that more people than I thought are getting online degrees. And most of the feedback I got was positive.

I found out that an elementary school teacher I know was getting her degree online from the University of Phoenix. She just graduated recently. Her feedback was that she really liked the online classes and the only issue she ran into was keeping up with the deadlines and not being able to talk face-to-face with her teachers.

One of my coworkers’ cousins was also getting her degree online and one of my classmates is getting her degree online.

Surprisingly, I found out that my former journalism professor was getting her Ph.D. online. When I asked her about it, she said it wasn’t a bad idea to get an online degree. Again, she mentioned that you just have to keep up with the deadlines.

I even asked some current Full Sail students about their experience. Everybody that I talked to had the same answer.

So after praying about it and doing some research, I took one step forward.
