Poetry Dedication
I wrote these poems a few years ago. The first one I wrote in 2007. The second one I wrote in 2012, five years later. They are dedicated to the JCHS class of 2007. (I think this can be applied to everyone though)
I feel like the second poem still rings true even today. We have grown up. Some of us have started families. Some of us have careers. Some of us have moved. Whatever the case we are no longer kids. We are adults.Time flies. Yet it seems like not too long ago we were just graduating.
Read on and let me know what you think!
Dedicated to the class of 2007
Well ,my fellow classmates (And other graduates of 2007),
another year has passed
we are growing up
no longer our mommy’s baby
It really is
so hard to say goodbye
to yesterday
because
time is
going by so fast
soon
we’ll be the ones leading
soon
we’ll be what our
parents and
teachers and
mentors
are now
We must
cherish today
remember yesterday
and
hope to see tomorrow
remember he who is afraid of failure is also afraid of success
Dedicated to the class of 2007: Part Two
Well, my fellow classmates
Five years have passed
Since we last crossed the stage
It seems like yesterday
But now
Some of us are married
Some of us have started a family
Some of us have graduated
Some of us are starting our careers
And some of us are still trying to find out niche in life
Whatever the case
We are still here
And this is God’s way of showing His love for us
Although we have made some progress
Let us not stop now
We must cherish the present
Remember our dreams
And continue to place our hope in God
Remember he who is afraid of failure is also afraid of success
(RIP to our classmates who are no longer with us. You are truly missed)
