The Turning Point

The Turning Point

Written in 2013

Last week, I talked about how did I get on the path of online classes. This week I want to talk about what was my turning point.

I was trying to see what my options were and I thought it would be a good idea to ask one of my journalism professors for advice. So I emailed him and he told me to call him. I told him my situation. I asked him if it would be a good idea to get a second bachelor’s degree.

His advice was that it would be better to get a master’s degree. He suggested that I move and he suggested that I look at the University of Florida. I respected his advice but at the same time I didn’t sense God telling me to move. So I left the conversation thinking to myself that I would just have to get a certificate from FSU right now.

For some reason, I thought to myself why not go online and look at UF’s journalism program.

This was my turning point.

As I was looking at the journalism program, I learned that UF also offered an online program. From there I started researching advantages and disadvantages of online classes. I also started looking for other schools that offer online programs.

The schools that I found that I was interested in were Full Sail University, Regent University, and University of South Florida.

I chose Full Sail.

Next week, I will talk about why I chose Full Sail.
