Breastfeeding Was The Reason I Stopped Drinking Cow's Milk
I recently shared my breastfeeding journey here. It’s going on 14 months for me and I love it.
During my breastfeeding journey, I had an epiphany!
See breastfeeding is normal or at least it should be considered normal. When I breastfeed my son, I am giving him all the nutrients he will need. What mother wouldn’t want that?
You’d be surprised to learn what breastmilk consist of; I surely was. It has in it proteins, vitamins, fat, and carbohydrates. Not only that but breast milk changes to meet the baby’s needs. Say for instance, if a baby is sick, that breast milk’s composition would be different than if the baby was not sick.
As I was thinking about my son starting solids and even when he’s ready to stop breastfeeding, that’s when I had my epiphany! If my son is getting milk from me, why would he need cow’s milk?! Better yet why am I drinking cow’s milk?!
I’m still doing research on drinking cow’s milk but I have already started eliminating dairy from my diet. What I have learned so far is that cow’s milk is for that cow’s baby. So it’s the same as for what I was saying before that my milk is specifically for my son. And so that also means that if I decide to drink cow’s milk and/or allow my son to drink cow’s milk, we would be drinking milk that’s not made for us. Milk that is specifically for a cow.
I do not care what anyone else does but as for me and my son….
