My Birth story: i could have died

I’m finally sharing my birth story! I know there are plenty of women who have shared theirs so I’m just adding to the conversation.

I wanted to share my birth story because for one I think as a whole society gives a picture-perfect view of pregnancy and birth. Like who really talks about the messy side of birth?

Second, I’m learning from my experience and I hope someone can take something away from my story because sometimes we just don’t know. Sometimes when we hear others' stories it encourages us, empowers us, and informs us.

I think it’s especially important for me to share my story because black women are more likely than their counterparts to die from complications from childbirth.

Put simply, I could have died after I gave birth because all of the placenta was not taken out. So down below is part one of my birth story.

I also blogged about my breastfeeding journey here and blogged about my pregnancy experience here.
